This year saw DRS (Direct Rail Services) take over the VSOE 'Northern Belle'. The 'Northern Belle' used to be hauled by Class 67 locomotives. The 'Boat Train' is also another service now using DRS locomotives which started early 2011.
With Direct Rail Services providing the motive power for the 'Northern Belle' on 2nd April 2011, for the first time, the train passes Stoke Junction with Class 47/4 No. 47802 leading the consist, bound for Derby.
