Cauldon Lowe Re-opening gala November '10

November 2010 saw the re-opening of the Cauldon Lowe line which runs from Leekbrook Jnc, a total distance of 8 miles of steeply graded railway which runs through beautiful Staffordshire moorland. Moorland & City Railway LTD ran a 3 weekend gala n November with a mixture of Steam & Diesel. It took MCR 8 months to clear te line from a mothballed state back in early 2010. Class 33/0 No. 33021 between CVR & MCR as it tails into Leekbrook Loop on the 20th November 2010.



BR Standard 8P Pacific No. 71000 Duke of Gloucester nears the summit at Ipstones on 14th November 2010.



SR 'West Country' Pacific No. 34028 Eddystone reaches the summit at Ipstones on the Cauldon Lowe line, 14th November 2010.

BR Standard 8P Pacific No. 71000 Duke of Gloucester brings the official reopening train up the Cauldon Lowe line at Bradnop with LMS 8F 2-8-0 No. 8624 banking on the 13th November 2010.


On a snowy november, Class 25 No. 25059 rolls down the hill at Blackbrook on 27th November 2010 with a train to Cauldon Lowe, Black 5 No. 44767 & Class 33 No. 33021 are on the rear banking.
